Creating a website or blog in WordPress is only one slice of the Traffic Pie.
You need to write, promote, optimize and work hard to get visitors showing up on your blog and, out of the box, WordPress doesn’t come with the goods. Luckily there’s a plugin called ‘All in One SEO Pack’ which you can install into your WordPress site take advantage of good on-site SEO and get you ranking higher.
It’s simple, easy and once you’re up and running you’ll find it very easy to keep your site up to spec. Although there is a premium version, the free version of All in One SEO is fantastic and what we’ll focus on here.
While some themes are SEO optimized, I’ve had to switch from a Theme before and all of your SEO Titles and Descriptions are lost. I had to copy and paste them all manually during the conversion. Avoid that same mistake by relying on a purpose-built plugin.

So let’s get stuck into it!
We are currently still adding to this post, so if it seems a bit empty, check back soon for updates.
All of the below sections can be found in the left dashboard menu when you hover or click on ‘All in One SEO’ under the WordPress ‘Settings’ menu.
General Settings
The first tab of ‘General Settings’ is called, uh, ‘General Settings’! (twice?) It essentially acts as an area to add a license key if you buy the pro version of this plugin.
The following areas are worth exploring:
- Webmaster Tools – to add in Google, Bing, Pinterest, and other webMaster Tools / verifications to monitor your website. If you use any of the services there, you can hook them up.
- Breadcrumbs – you can add breadcrumbs to your site in a number of ways, this will add folder structure to your page, something like ‘Home / Blog / Blog Post’. It makes for easier navigation but isn’t always needed.
- RSS Content – you can customize what goes before or after your RSS feed’s content.
- Access Control – restrict which users can use All in One SEO
- Advanced – some more advanced plugin settings. I recommend turning on TruSEO Score & Content if you want to have the inbuilt SEO optimization tool on your pages and posts.

This is a Pro feature, the plugin author states:
“Our Redirection Manager allows you to easily create and manage redirects for your broken links to avoid confusing search engines and users, as well as losing valuable backlinks. It even automatically sends users and search engines from your old URLs to your new ones.”
Local SEO
Another Pro feature, good for establishing specific information for local businesses to found more effectively through search.

Do you recommend using the free versions both All In One & Yoast SEO For WordPress at the sametime ?
I like the readability options in Yoast which helped a whole lot in optomizing my page keyword focus titles, meta-description.
I guess my real question here is what would i be missing sticking with Yoast that would really be important for my ranking in google.
Thanks
I believe you could do what you need with Yoast alone, it’s just a different platform. But if it has features not found in AIOSEO that you like I’d go with that instead.
When i put Use Original Title: Disabled, i have a fear the Meta description change in the inner pages. Should i keep so or enable the option
Hi Eddie, I’m not 100% sure. My understanding is that it shouldn’t affect the description but only the title. Are your Meta Descriptions added outside of the All in One SEO panel?
